My 09 dub cab trd 4x4 has an auto tranny. After coming to a stop or a redlight I notice it "kicking in" to first gear after a good 20 seconds or so while waiting. I've never noticed this in any other vehicle I've owned.

    Thanks crew!

Its normal. Tranny wont go into first gear until completely at rest, or under full throttle below 30 mph.

I wish it wouldn't do it sometimes. Makes it a PITA to goose the throttle when you're already moving. I'd rather it drop into first when I go over 2/3rd throttle.

    Totally normal....

We had a Grand Cherokee that did it (and still does it) but with a harder kick to it.
