I aborted the installation of my Fold A Cover because this does not look right to me. Take a look at the jpegs. Has anyone installed a G4 Elite onto a 2012 Taco and perhaps can tell me if I may have a wrong part here?

I think there is too much gap between the rear striker clamp and the windseal rail. The gap at the front striker clamp is perfect. The rear has about a 1/2" gap.

BTW, this is the latest version of the Elite whereby you do not have to adhere the windseal. The windseal comes with a metal tab and then it is screwed down with a bolt.

I've got the G4 Elite on my 2007. I just checked and it looks very similar to your pictures. I'd say to make sure the rear brackets are up as high as possible. The latch bolt adjustment in the bracket will make up the difference. My rear latch bolts are actually about 1/8" above the top of the bracket, and it works fine.

I love the cover. I can carry plywood with the back 3 panels folded forward. Removal is quick and easy if you need the full bed. It's pretty watertight except for occasional small drips in the corners.

On this version, the wind seal rails are screwed down, not taped down. With the gap it will not allow the windseal rails to lay flat along the side rails of the truck. If you look at the front (3rd jpeg), the tab sits right on top of the bracket with no gap.

Im having the exact same problem with mine. We're you able to find a solution? I was wondering if I may need to remove the factory plastic side rails to get it even...

Looks fine. Just screw it down and the foam will compact. Mine came out perfect. I just installed it yesterday.

On mine, the gap was exaggerated as there is some compression of the foam backing that takes place when you tighten down the bolts. However, on mine, I did have to double up on the washer. With the kit, Steffen supplied 2 washers, 1 for each side. I got them to send me extras washers and wound up using 2 on the driver's. Each washer is 1/8" thick. With 2 washers on the left side and 1 washer on the right side everything balanced out well to the eye and even when I measure the gap between cover and top of tailgate.

Now that it is installed and used. I love it the cover! Only thing I wish is that the 4th cover by the tailgate would have a thicker lip so that the gap between cover and tailgate is not so large. It would be far more secure with a narrower gap in my opinion.
