another 6 inch lift $$ question thread

So, after viewing the several awesome 6 inch lifted Tacoma on here I'm partially convinced this is the way I should go. First, I barely offroad, like once twice a month. I have a 2008 SR5 non/trd acc. cab. I plan to keep just 33" tire (285/70/17s). I want to relieve the stress on my cv's and other suspension parts but still be lifted.

I think 6 inch lifted Taco's look sick. I want to do it. But what are the real costs.

I'm thinking a fabtech stage II but what else will I need for great ride quality on and off road and about how much is this going to cost.

I'm guessing i'll need longer brakelines. But will I need a single piece drive shaft (for vibrations)...

Also, I have bilsteins now, could I keep these at zero, put on stock springs and run a basic kit and still get good ride quality?

 

thanks, so I can get the basic kit then upgrade later on to new coilovers. I might get the leaf pack anyway... was the the disadvantage to the block out back?

 

I have been researching this same thing.

I just requested a quote from Alcan and they quoted me 250 per spring.

I ran one on my 99 pickup and it did wonders for axle wrap and has no effect on articulation and actually protects the driveshaft.

I have the 6in fabtech basic on my 2007 and i love it. I did not have to get longer brakelines, it comes with all new brakeline mounts. I want to get new 6in coilovers soon aswell. Good luck with your decision man!

 

Dont forget that the install cost can get pretty hefty with the 6" lifts.

 

I have a 6" lift and run the ICON Coilover's for the reason i can get them rebuilt a wheeler's in my home state. THe ride quality is way better then stock coilovers and the Fabtech coilovers go with ICON's. 1200.00 Bucks at Wheeler's when i ordered them
