Looking at picking up a 2nd gen Taco and moving from my 2500 cummins. I've been checking craigslist, ebay, and the forums here pretty intensely for the last couple of weeks.

Criteria is: Quad cab, 4wd, 2008 or newer and under 25k.

    Location is North Carolina.

The first candidate is a 2009, TRD Off Road with 78k miles. It's listed at 21k OBO. Already has 33" nittos with some new wheels, leveling kit, TRD intake and a chip that the owner doesn't know the brand of (he's the 2nd owner).

The second is a 2008 with 38k miles, TRD Sport. It's listed at 24800 but talking with the owner, he'd go lower, somewhere in the 24's. It's sitting on a RCD 4.5" with 33" toyo's on 20" wheels. Not my style on the wheels, but that can e changed.

Here is a photo of it

Any guidance would be helpful as I know a lot about my current dodge, but not a ton about Tacos and their values. I currently have a LT setup on my dodge with 2.5 Kings and would like to either mix a King/Fox coilover with that RCD kit or install a new setup on a different truck. That RCD kit seems to have some pretty good reviews though and would be a good platform to start from. I don't mind dumping 3-4k into a stock suspension though to get setup properly.

Seems like too much for the 2008. I'd go for the lower mileage one if you could get in a lot closer to $20k.

Problem is that tacoma's haven't been staying on the market for long. Maybe 2 weeks. He's already had an offer at 24,500 he's considering. KBB on it is right at 25 I believe.

Just my luck so far... I have had 3 tacos and 1 tundra I was looking at pretty hard sell the day before or after I looked at them.
