7' doors and my '11 Taco with a full 3" lift front & rear (885s & Dakars) on 33+" tires fits even with a tall shell. Stock antenna hits though.

    Yup

8 foot tall minimum and go the standard 9' wide... 10' wide is not bad either.

Most modern SUVs barely make it under a 7' high door.

I find that hard to believe. Its always looks closer then it actually is before you try it. I thought mine was gonna be close and its not. I have room for a 6" lift I would say

Remember you're potentially going in and out of that garage door several times daily. Make it as easy on yourself as possible. I'd go a bit higher than normal, and a bit wider as well.

The clearance under my garage door is a bit less than the cutout opening for the door. The clearance under my door is roughly seven and a half feet, but that's a bit cramped at times. I'd prefer at least another foot on that.

I'd also make the door wider or choose a different style. My sixteen feet wide door is just too narrow for two larger vehicles (my truck & wife's minivan). I intend to eventually replace that with two slightly oversized single garage doors side by side with a space in between.

I said most of them barely fit... I didn't say most don't fit.

Read up on SUVs, full sized pickups and garage doors. Believe it or not. :D

    This

The other thing is that an 8' tall garage door just looks 100% better too , by the time you wrap the trim on a 7' door it's at about 6' 10" of clearance to the liner

If you are building new always go an 8' talk door
