I have been seeing more and more of these pop up and wanted to get some more info on them from people who have shot them and owned them. I like the long range and the penetration power. I also looked into the ammo since i have heard several people says its expensive and hard to find and it looks like $20-$25 a box of 50 and most websites are sold out so its looking like that one is holding true.

Yea the factory is reducing its production of the caliber. http://www.fivesevenammo.com/shop/page2.html

But on a side note, it was easily my favorite pistol to shoot. It was a bit of overkill for a pistol but still awesome

I spoke with a couple FN employees recently because this is on my list of guns to own...the ammo is hard to find currently but a couple major manufacturers are supposed to be picking up the round and mass producing it so you won't have to buy the FN branded stuff

Being a firearms instructor and having shot many types of gun, i'd definitely say this is my favorite and what i personally conceal. High capacity, extremely lightweight, and very very accurate. From 100 yards i got 5 out of 6 rounds on target. If you do buy one make sure you buy the correct ammuniton. When i first purchased it, the only ammo the gun store carried was ss197, not knowing any better thats what i shot out of it. With that ammuniton every third round jammed, failed to feed or some type of malfuntion happened. I shot 100 rounds that day. Paying 1200 dollars for this gun, i was pretty upset. I expect to get something that at least works properly for that ammount of money. I took the gun back to the gun dealer and they inspected it and test fired it, but of course there were no malfuntions during the test fire. Im already furious at this point, because of course they would not return my money having already fired it. I ended up contacting the manufacturer and they told me the gun usually takes a break in period of 150-200 rounds and they recommend to use a heavier round, which is the ss195. After that i took 100 rounds of ss195 to the range and not one single malfuntion occured, thank god. It just sucks being such an expensive weapon its so picky in ammuniton.

Thanks for the info. I think if the ammo starts getting produced more and the price comes down I will pick one up. I really want to find one local that I can shoot before i decide to buy it. But from everything I have read 90% of the people love the gun.

Once you fire it, you will fall in love with it. You're pretty much shooting an .223 caliber but with the recoil of a .22lr
Before i shot it they told me it had very little recoil, but experiencing it for yourself is a whole different deal, you'll be amazed.
