Replacing Fogs With Aftermarket?

    Depends on what lights you're gonna use and the compatibility of the wiring/circuit.

    Stock fogs are 42w so the extra load may or may not cause problems :notsure:
    Problems could be blown fuses and/or burnt wires.

    Why not just keep your original fog lights.... and mount the PIAA's separately while tapping into the headlight circuit (so to speak).

    I have PIAA 510 fogs on my truck. My husband did all the wiring, but I'm pretty sure he tapped into the main headlight circuit/wiring. I can run them anytime as long as the headlights are on.

    Because I live in PA - technically - the way I have it setup is illegal PLUS the fact they're not 20" apart. When inspection time rolls around, I simply remove the power to them. I've never been stopped. The only time I really use them is in extreme conditions....

    They come with a relay & switch. I forgot about that....

    Every year during inspection, I disconnect the power at the relay.

    aftermarket bumper.... have to purchase aftermarket fogs too... so I can't keep my original fog lights, kind of a bummer

    I'd wiring them using a separate relay. The easiest way to go about this is use the existing fog light wiring to 'trigger' the new relay. That way the fuction would be the same. The problem is you now have 2 relays basically doing the same thing but it would take the thin wiring and small fuse from the stock wiring out the equation. I'm not sure they'd handle the load from the PIAAs.
