Found my soon to be tacoma but for being an Off Road it has no locking diff button on the console or power outlet in the bed... were tacomas sold with that as an option back in 07 ? From what I remember post 09 OR and Sport packages had the plug and tow package if DC models.

    Any input ?

sounds like someone just slapped some decals on the truck. Off-road and sports come with the outlet in the bed while the off-road has the locking diff and the sport has the limited slip.

Nothing is said about a locker. "4-Wheel Drive, SR5 Package, Towing Package and More!"

If the bedside says Off Road it may be an add on sticker, such as a SockMonkey one :)

that my friend is an SR5, not a TRD

some Asshole, probably the previous owner, put the TRD stickers and wheels on.

My first tacoma was a base model that someone had put the TRD stickers on and I didnt know better...luckily I didnt pay trd price.

Yes, they did come with a locking rear diff and outlet.

The link'd truck is a fraud.

Looks like a really nice truck, but it's an SR5. Are they marketing it as TRD OR? I would definitely bring this up during the negotiation if you are serious about the truck...would likely save you a few grand.

They said its an Off Road model but I think they meant that it has 4x4 on it . Its an older gentleman whos not too familiar with the vehicle. For 1K more its can get the 08 which looks to have the power outlet as far as I can see and a locking diff

Wouldn't surprise me if some dealers (scumbag ones) are putting the decals on some models to jack up price a bit. At least the OP was smart enough to come and ask a forum full of owners to find out the truth. That means there are plenty out there that aren't that smart and pay the higher price solely based on a sticker.

id spend the 1k more and get the trd with the locker.

resale will be a little better with the trd package.
