do the email thing, email 4 local dealers, internet sales manager and ask them for their pricing today on a 2012 with your color / package combo, tell them you're willing to wait a bit, a week, two, whatever and then take the best offer and email to the others, set a date you will buy the truck by and tell them to make their best offer.

Doing it now will garner you good pricing and get the good financing on a lower price.

I used American Express car buying service with my 2012 DCLB. Simple and they beat the lowest quoted price I got by $150 still. All and all about $650 under dealer invoice.

Also, you do not need to be an AMEX card holder.

If your still looking to buy, sign up for a Costco membership ($55) and go through their auto website, find out which dealer in your area is the one doing the Costco program. The discount is different for each model. A buddy who told me about this bought a Prius for $1500 below invoice. The discount for Tacoma is $1000 below invoice. Just walk in, give them your member number, and done. Price goes straight to $1000 below invoice. No negation needed. Best car buying experience I've had out of the 3 vehicles I've purchased new.

i am now in the wait for '13s group. stock is getting low on '12s in the Seattle region. yesterday i tried to buy a used 2012 with about 2,000 miles and they wanted more than new. friggen Toyota and their used Taco pricing.

then i tried to buy new and couldn't make a deal. i offered $32,000 and they told me to walk.

both trucks were MGM Sport sb with Entune, tow package and daytime lights - pretty much the standard build for this region.

seems to me $32,000 is a shitload of money for a truck and i didn't consider it a lowball offer. truck pricing in PNW is ridiculous.

Point them to their "what did you you pay for your 2012" thread. I ordered mine and got it for less than that...plenty of other places who will take your money.

I just picked up a 2013 Tacoma Sport dbl cab with Nav, Entune, Jbl package etc for 29.5k before rebates. Ordered it 8 weeks ago, was planiing on getting a 2012 but they did not have any available with Nav and when they tried to order only allowed to order for 2013 model year.

Have had it 5 days and love it.

$29.5K? That's an awesome price! Did you get a PreRunner or a 4x4? I am going to order a 2013 DCSB Sport 4x4 with Navi/JBL & Tow Package in Jan, and I just want to know if I could actually get the truck for ~ $30K. I was expecting to pay around $32K

I have the Prerunner. 2013 Tacoma Dbl cab, TRD Sport, Nav/JBL/Entune package, Towing, floor mats and door sills.

They were not offering any manufacturers rebates / cash back on the 2013 model.
But did get 1k off for college an 500 for military.

    It was 29.5k before rebates.

Happy with it, thought it was a pretty good deal.

That is a good deal! I think my USAA price is ~$32K because I'm getting a 4x4. The USAA price doesn't include the $500 military rebate, so I should get that too.
