Rear Diff Upgrade Question

I was considering a Truetrac for my 08, but after reading the Wikipedia post it doesn't sound like it would help much for my purposes.

 

I have a Detroit TruTrac IT's great for my Daily Driver. And it helps in the sand and mud here in Florida.
Although when I do get the occasional wheel up in the air the diff does go to open diff mode persay. I've also learned, using the hand brake tricks it into thinking there is tracion and semi-locks up.

I was really excited to hear about this LSD until your post. Wouldn't the benefit of an LSD be to have both wheels turn if one loses traction? Maybe I am asking to much?

 

A mechanical LSD like the TruTrac works as a torque multiplier and in turn requires at the least a minimal amount of resistance from the opposing wheel.

This problem can be solved by pulling the ebrake a few clicks out like the previous post mentioned.

 

If you have Automatic Trans that would be easier. Myself with a 5 speed, I would need an extra leg.

 

I have a regular cab so my ebreak is a "squeeze and twist" as I call it . I guess this works the same. Does the ebrake actually work both wheels? On my past cars it was only one. If not I guess I would just ride/tap the brake a bit.
