Anybody own a GTI MKV

Wife totaled the Honda CRV 2 months ago. I am about to buy a used 2008 GTI w 32k miles on it w the DSG transmission. It will be her DD and stay mostly stock

Edmunds.com has good reports on them, only problems I have read are reporting DSG trans issues.

Anyone got one as their other ride? Comments? Issues with MKVs?

I was under the impression that the DSG was actually pretty solid. The engine is quite proven in various VW applications.

 

Back in 07 When i bought the Altima I test drove a GTI. Was all set to buy it. only like 23K miles on it, But then I test drove it. I brought it back to the dealer and told the guy the turbo was blown. Went back a week later to pick up something for the Altima i bought and sure enough he said it was blown.
