Actuator install in a Truck toolbox

I install an actuator in the toolbox, so I can lock and unlock my toolboxwith the factory remote.

You need,

Materials

1/4" 20 x 2" Stainless Steel bolt = 1

1/4" Stainless Steel fender washer =2

1/4" Stainless Steel lock washer = 1

1/4" stainless Steel nuts = 3

1/4" Stainless Steel small washer = 2

1/4" Stainless spring nuts = 1

#14 wire

Wire termination kits from Auto parts store

Tools

Grinder

Unit bit

Wire cutter,

Wire stripper

Clamping tools

Electrical tapes

Wire tie

Wire loom

Wiring to OEM door lock

But if you have the dyno tailgate lock install and it will be much easy,find the wire that you run and pig tail the wire out to your actuator.

Total took me about 3 hours from start to finish.

The tough part is using the grinder to cut the spring nut, than use the unitbit to rim out the thread inside the spring nuts.
