bilstein 5100 question

    hi all
    i purchased a set of billys 5100
    is it possible to run the factory coils with them?
    i want a 2.5 inch lift........
    what else do i need so that i don't wreck everything down the road?

    Yes you can run your stock coils. It seems to be hit or miss but you might need new UCA's to get proper alignment with 2.5.

    Oh sorry, I mean some people require new UCA's to get their alignment in spec and some don't.

    how would i know if i need an alignment or not???
    im not very good witht he car thing either lol

    you might want to get a diff drop but ive heard they dont do anything on 2nd gens so ill let a 2nd genner drop in bout that

    5100's front and back, OME 885x's, LR UCA's, OMD rear springs, Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD, HVAC Green led's MOD, Blacked out bumper, Plastidip emblems, custom front tube bumper, 32" combo led bar, rigid duallys, otrattw switches, my own Satoshi grille, shorty antenna, Spyder LED halo headlights. csjumper2003 map/dome, 3rd brake, DTRL white/amber and parking LED's. Pelfreybilt IFS skid, Cab mount chop, sliders and rear light bar w/blitzpro 5LR dust light. Uniden CB, Magnaflow 18" exhaust, Rear tire carrier, sway bar removed, spidertrax 1.25" spacers, Wheelers 16" Alloys w/265/75r16 Goodyear DuraTracs
    You'll need an alignment when you put them in regardless. After the install if they cant get it in specs for alignment you'll know. You should buy uca's to be safe

    You will need an alignment for sure. I am just saying sometimes the stock Upper control arms don't have enough adjustment after being lifted that much to get your alignment back in spec so you don't chew through tires. The aftermarket UCA's have a better range of adjustment to keep your lignment numbers in spec.

    If you change your suspension (like adding new shocks or lifting) then you will need to have your alignment re-done by a shop. After they align it, you might find that you still have some issues like uneven tire wear (this is the hit-or-miss comment from above). If so, a common fix is to install new UCAs.

    There are a lot of threads on these topics, so try searching and you may be able to get a lot of your questions answered quicker instead of having to wait for people to respond to you in this thread.
