I have had this Toyota Tacoma since 2007 when I bought it in Anchorage. Recently the lower speeds of the fan started to cut out and not work. I replaced the air filter which seemed to make every speed of the fan work. For a few days! Now only the high speed works. Being in south Texas that is better than no fan speeds!
I found this site via Google. I knew the fans were a problen as mine had been replace about 3 yrs ago. After reading the forum I realize that there is more to this problem. I am dissapointed that Toyota has not found a true "fix" after clearly many years of this problem being known to Toyota headquarters. This is my 5th Toyota and the first in which I've had such a problem.
I'm going to try the repairs noted in the forum and see what happens. Thanks for the great info especially with the photos!
Also I had a puppy problem in that he chewed up the steering wheel and center console lid. I guess he was not happy about being left alone in the truck while I ran into a store-this was last Dec when the temps were cooler! Does anyone know of a used parts or junk yard where I could replace these?
