Go Pro with waterproof skeleton

Had the skeleton on it, and easily could hear myself talk to a friend while it was on.
Makes me worried that it may not be sealed properly?
Can you hear noises pretty easily with your water proof backing instead of the one with openings?

 

don't have one so i wouldn't know, but if you're concerned that it might be broken i'll tak it off your hands for the cost of shipping...

if you're not interested, consider that a free bump, lol

Simply dunk the case underwater without anything in it and see if there's any water inside when you pull it out. You have their first underwater case or their new black flat-front?

Still try what I suggested to test it. Make sure nothing (like the de-fogging strip) is caught in the closed case, and be sure the top snap (black) is even and secure (they pop off very easily at the worst times).

 

i submerged it for a while, no leaks. thats good.

so I guess these things just pick up sound a lot more than I thought they did.

 

Yeah, that's a good thing. You should sound a bit "tinny" when that's on and used underwater.

 

op. how old is it? is the HD or not? i have the older one thats NOT HD. and it’s like that as well. mine i sealed very well. i would put some change or something it in and fill the bathroom sink up and test it. just to make sure.

also if you take that white seal on the “door” off and clean it from time to time with water, than let it air dry. DO NOT dry it off. any hair or fiber can cause it to leak.

 

i use mine with the waterproof case when i'm riding in the woods to keep dust and dirt out of it. i must say i was quite impressed with the sound quality. picked up the sound of my yz250 perfectly. braaaaap!!!

i bought it a week ago.

 

For the GoPro? We used H2's for the last thing I did and never noticed if an external mic could be connected. Better interface, though.

 

there is a spot for external mic.

 

it’s fin. just wash it good agin and let air dry. i just hold it only takes like 2 min or less. maybe spin it around your finger.

The holed back is made for outa water use. Obviously. And yes creates way better sound than the waterproof back does. That's my one complaint about the waterproof back is the sound quality, but then again it's made for underwater.

 

I know that. The noise quality I got with the waterproof back was fairly decent, that is why I was worried.

 

also OP. if the waterproof case ever breaks. call go pro. they have a newer case. thats said to be even better. and i was told they will replace the older style with newer for free, if broken. but not 100% sure, so don’t quote me.
