gone that motor produced nothing but problems for me. now it starts every time and gets me where I am going every time.

Honestly if I was going to keep it I would do the ecotec conversion. under about $1,200 depending on how handy you are. and puts 140ho to the rear wheels with a fuel injected motor.

Not who has a toyota to trade?

If you left the turbo motor then you would have a trade, but a 1600 DP if i had that it would not be for fuel mileage it would be for fun.

The turbo motor never ran correctly. The reason I got this is for fun but not too fun when it wouldn't start. Since I put this motor in (which I dont beleive is a 1600 I think it is a 17xx" it has never failed me. starts every time now.

IIRC, no such thing as a 17xx.

Did a build myself with the 1600. Crapy stock engine . We hated it so we sold it. The buyer (who is now a good friend of mine) had the engine rebuild by Kawell Racing. Naturally aspired, the built engine put out 120hp. On a 1600lb car, that was pretty fun :D.

Here is the site if anyone is interested:

I wanna 17xx. Heck, one more x and you've got one hell of a good ride! Although she might be a little young...

A well built 1776 can lead to a good ride as well...

    Any luck with the sale?

Yes there is, It is a 1776

    https://www.google.com/search?q=vw+...&sugexp=chrome,mod=5&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

You can build almost any size VW motor based on stroke and bore you chose. but the 1776 is one of the more popular.

Have a lot of interest it probably is going to boil down to who pulls the trigger from only photos and has me ship it to them first. Also have some really good trade offers locally was well. I am going to miss it and really wish I could keep it and put an ecotec in it, but time and money is limiting right now.

Interesting. Wish I knew this ~10 years back. It was a kick ass build but we just couldnt get over the engine.

Yeah this is a very nice build. Any gear head would love to get their hands on this Im sure. I wouldnt trade my truck  but if I was in Cali I would def look into this seriously. Such an easy car to build and so much fun potential :D.
