265 75 are 31.64" diameter, and 265 70 are 30.60" diameter. Given that the factory wheels make the speedo lag behind (in my experience), I think you'll be OK. I'd like to see what others have to say, though. It's 22 less revolutions per mile.

Speedo should read 2 miles slower, which will probably be just right.

Almost everyone reports truly accurate readings once they bump to that size. Before the switch my speedometer was reading about 3 mph faster compared to my GPS. Now it's spot on.

Yep 265/75/16 made mine accurate as well. Check your speed with GPS yours probably off right now.

Had 245/75/16 stock tires and went with 265/75/16 and the speedometer is perfect, otherwise 2 mph slow.

Yeah my speedo was faster by 2mph. Put the new rims and shoes on voila it was perfect!

I have the same thing to report with my stock 07 TRD sport 17" wheels.

Speedometer was reading 3 mph or so higher than GPS (or those roadside radar billboards.)

Replace the stock size 265/65/17 tires with 265/70/17 and now it is dead on the money.

And better yet, the prices on the 70s are generally lower in my area apparently due to supply and demand.
