Spiral Cable Recall, they may not have to install a new one?

    I got the recall notice and was looking at it carefully. It says the dealer will inspect it and replace if necessary. So that means that they might not replace it if they think the old one is ok.

    My concern is if my spiral cable hasn't broke yet, I take it in, they say it's ok and will not replace it, my cable breaks in the future, they will not fix it because I have already brought it in for a recall. Should I wait until it breaks and the air bag light goes on before taking it in for the recall?

    Large Storage Box, 02610 intermittent switch swap, "Hot Wire" Power Outlets, DRL Shut Off, Disable Fob Beep, Disable Seat Belt Buzzers, Parking Light Mod, Battery Tender, 4 Leaf Spring Pack, Rear Headrest Removal, Factory Tow Package (7 Pin) Rear Diff Mod, Taco Lean Mod, 2WD Low ECU.
    They will check the lot number on the part and go from there. About 85% will need replacement. It's not about if the light is on they will and it it's not they won't. If the number falls within it will be replaced with available stock.
    There are a few threads on this already.
