Rear Shock Install

    ATX Mojaves with 265/75 16 Hankook Dynapro ATMs, Spidertrax 1.25" spacers (front and rear), Bilstein 5100 all around up front set at 1.75", Blacked out badges, Pioneer AVIC D3 DVD/NAV Head Unit, K&N Air Filter, Tyger Tri Fold Tonneau Cover, Rockford Fosgate Punch Speakers.
    OK I havent been on here in a while, but I may be looking to replace my rear shocks with 5100s, can anyone point me in the direction of a install thread, I understand it is pretty simple just looking for some type of guide to follow.

    Sas 4.7tranfer case gears 5.29s Locked front/rear
    Unbolt the top and bottom bolts . Remove shock . Put new shock in tighten bolts down . Not much to it .

    Thanks for answering my dumb question. I figured as much just wanted to be sure. If I remember correctly there is no need to even jack up my truck to replace the rears.

    just did mine, its real easy, make sure you get the right ones, there is 2 kind of rear billys.

    Yup, just depends on if you have a lift or not, correct?

    OME 3" lift with 885 coils. OME Shocks with TSB 1.5 AAL. 285/75/16 KM2s. XD Hoss 16" wheels. DDM Tuning 6000K HIDs, H10 6000K Fogs. BHLM. Debaged. 20% tint on front windows.
    I used a little wrench on the top stem and had it wedged somewhere around the fender so the bolt wouldn't spin when trying to unscrew it.

    Shit.... You are right... That statement was coming from experience when it came to taking off the OEM shocks and putting what I currently have on (OME Shocks). What I meant by was taking the factory ones off. When I did mine, I didn't use a Allen Key to take mine off. So yes you will need an Allen Key for the REMOVAL of the OEM shocks and INSTALL of the 5100s. I just didn't have any freaking Allen Keys laying around when I did it, so I improvised :cool:

    Not when there rusted on there And the tip of the shock breaks and spins freely I just had bad expierence with them haha

    Thanks for all the info, will most likely change these out over Thanksgiving as I will be visiting family and friends who have a lot more space and a lot more tools than I currently have in Boston.
