    Yeah.
I always go OEM if the price is competitive. Check RockAuto.com. Water pumps are not high-tech. For these parts you should be good with whatever you can find.

    Yeah.
Most likely Aisin, but I could be wrong. Not sure what engine you have, but RockAuto carries the Aisin water pump for both the 3.4L and 2.7L, both about $55.

For the thermostat, just get a Stant or Gates OE Exact.

    Don't forget gaskets/seals.

I used to have a a TRD supercharger on the Tacoma, converted back to NA when I bought the Tundra. The SC was tons of FUN!!!
Getting ready to replace my original timing belt on my '96 Tacoma, Ex Cab, V6, 4x4. Planning to replace the water pump, thermostat and o-ring 'while I'm in there'. I will also be replacing the all the accessory belts.

I'm an air-cooled type of guy, and I have replaced water pumps on Chevy and Dodge V8 engines in the past, but the Tacoma pump is new territory for me.

The Aisin part number I have been using to search on is W0133-1741932, available from several vendors.

Rock Auto appears to have a better price for an Aisin pump, but they list the pump as part # WPT100. Are these the two different numbers same identical part?

WPT100 indicates it includes a Gasket, and an O-Ring. Is there an additional gasket I need for the thermostat housing/water outlet? (The gasket I'm referring to is not an O-ring, it has a large opening in the center and three stud holes).

Some vendors list the gasket some don't ... just want to make sure I order everything I'll need.

I just replaced the front struts. What a difference! The lower mount bushings were shot

    Yeah.
RockAuto has a timing belt kit that also comes with the water pump, gaskets and hydraulic tensioner for 204.79 along with everything else you would need. It most likely comes with the gaskets, but I would add a thermostat, thermostat o-ring and extra thermostat housing gasket to the order to be safe -- the o-ring and gasket are only about a buck each -- doing an extra order and paying shipping would cost you more, better safe than sorry.
