Popping the Hood

Hey everyone I have a 2006 Tacoma, pretty sure my cable broke to pop my hood. I have pushed down on my hood in hopes that it just wasn't secure to pop it up but it wasn't. Anyone know how to Jimmy the Hood so i can get under it?

 

haha no sir I am not, I don't know what the deal is exactly, but I have done everything i can from inside the vehicle and no matter what I do it wont pop from in there. I figure if i can get a look at the other end I might be able to figure it out

 

ya it does, but I can't pull on it hard enough to release it, so maybe the actual latch assembly is broke, Who knows

 

well I had disconnected the cable from the handle and pulled on the cable with vice grips and then I broke the Cable pulling on it anyways (happened about 10 seconds ago) way to go me! and so now I am screwed on that part of things.
