I don't own one but I have shot one. They're nice firearms. The px4 was my next choice after my cz75b. But the cz won. I don't think you can go wrong with beretta.

Go shoot one. Go shoot 5 actually. Then you'll know which one fits.

Beretta is a good gun but I held the PX4 the other day and it was kinda small for my hands. I carry a HK P30 and either a Glock 17 or my S&W .38....2 guns...gotta have 2 guns.

I carry the PX4 for work for the past two years and I have put about 15000 rounds down the pipe. It still shoots as nice today as day one and I haven't sent it to the armourer for a detailed cleaning yet. I really like the pistol, but I am a little biased as I have a daily need to believe that the little pistol will get me home at the end of the shift. Mine is chambered in 9mm. I also have a Beretta 92 FS and a SW M&P that I shoot on my own time (9mm too).
PX4 PRO's - polymer frame, it is light which if you are carrying it around for 10 hours a day it beats the hell out of the 92fs or a Kimber.
    - 9mm holds 17 rounds
    - has an interchangable backstrap that is plenty easy to change if you want to pass on to smaller hands (girlfriend or daughter)
    - daily cleaning is easy!
    - it is a Beretta
    - price is decent

CONS- polymer frame, I haven't heard of it but there is a chance if you left it in the desert sun it may warp (I have friends who carry this pistol in 40 celcius or 115 farenheit and it is money for them but shit can happen)
    - firing pin is a bit hard to access in comparison to SW M&P

I would recommend shooting it before your buy obviously. When I first shot it I thought it was pretty light in comparison, but it has certainly grown on me. Good luck in your purchase and remember practice makes perfect!

Thanks for the Info, I went to the gun store this morning and checked a few again. Sprinfield 1911 was cheaper than the xd, Beretta and the Glocks. Way to small in my hand. The Glock and the xd feel good but I ended up buying the full size xd in a .45. I shot the xd about a year ago and like the fit, feel and weight. And it came with three clips, a holster for the gun and a holster for the clips and you get three more clips from Springfield after you buy the gun. Good deal for $589.

    Thanks for the info guys.

one thing i noticed about the PX4s, is the full-size and the compact are not alike... the full-size has a rotating barrel type lockup/action, while the compact has the usual blowback-type action, ... i've handled the compact, it feels well built, and has pretty good ergonomics (for me anyway) - only gripe is the thumb safety (wish it didn't have one)...
