I just purchased a 2010 Tacoma Extended Cab and the antenna is totally missing from the passengers side fender, all I have is a hole. I've read several threads about antenna's breaking, ect. I'm looking for recommendations to replace the antenna and how much trouble will I have plugging it into the radio?

It's quite easy, assuming the actual internal antenna parts are there. You literally just screw it in.

    Most aftermarket antennas should work.

I guess I should have been more clear. All I have is a hole where the antenna and mount go.

Did it break off and the fitting fell into the fender? Or was it missing from when you got it? There should be a coax cable from the radio to that hole, with a metal connector attached on the fender. If you need the new cable and connector, you will need to slide the radio out and run a new coax cable to that hole.
I got a rubber stubby put on the end of mine, as the original had to be taken off at automatic car washes that have the spinning brushes. I have great reception with it wherever I go.

Skeeet, you are absolutely right, thanks for the suggestion. I've added a photo which will explain the entire problem. One pix worth a thousand words.

You should try checking inside your fender to see if it's hanging in there or not
