Ok guys... hopefully someone that has done this can give me some ideas. I have a Yaesu FTM-350AR with a remote head and a Garmin Nuvi 350 GPS and I want to mount both of them on the dash with suction cup windshield mounts.

In my old car (a 2003 Honda Civic) I ran the wiring behind the center bezel and it worked out pretty good. I don't think it will be this easy doing it the same way in my Taco, it appears to be pretty tight up there upon my initial inspection. I took the factory radio out and while I think I can get the cabling behind it, it is going to be a tight fit and could end up damaging the wire I think. My only other option would be to lay them across the dash and run them down the drivers side cowl, but would prefer not to go that route if possible.

The other issue I'm having is how and where to mount two microphones. I really, REALLY, do not want to drill into my shiny new trim, so that left me thinking of ideas. There is a pocket just to the right of the steering wheel that is removable and I thought about stuffing a piece of 2x4 or plywood covered in carpet and mounting the mic clips to that. I also thought about fabricating something out of steel or sheet metal that would mount just below the HVAC controls on the lip behind it, then bend the front of the fabricated mount at a 45 degree angle or something and mounting the mic clips to that.

So what's everyone doing for remote heads on the dash, and mounting methods for microphones? That's my preferred place, but may prove difficult at best.
