Tires or Lift? Where would you put your $?

yea i bought a 3 in spacer lift and now my coils are all f'ed up and need new coils. stupid cheap lifts suck. has anyone tryed the 5100 with the 886's ?

 

886s are not recomended without OME shocks!

 

Would depend entirely upon what you want to do with your truck but I'd do tires first, and that is what I did (265/75/R16 Procomp MTs and later and all and 844 coils). Then save up for a proper lift of your choosing and whatever else you like.

Ok so I got a level kit firstcuz i hate noticeable rake. (Top spacers not the ones that actually touch the spring. I like the stock ride for now and my coils are not f'ed up). I then proceeded to fit a set of 275/70/16 duratracs. I then rubbed tire pretty good Øn the back sides of the lower a-arms with stock wheels soi bought some eagle alloy 100 series. (Only rim in 16 that was black that would fit that the tire shop could get. Alaska is its own world lol). I had to cut the backside of front bumper cuz rubbed. And mud flaps by the way were long gone so didn't have to take them off. Bought sliders and now saving for a UCA so I could get a real suspension.

 

So just an update... I decided to level it first. Bilstein 5100 are ordered. I figured the stock rubber won't last forever, so I'd wear them out first and then buy the duratracs.

At least it seemed to be the easiest thing to explain to the wife.

 

what height did u set your billies? did u need new UCA's?

 

Just installed the 5100's through Toytec. 2nd clip on the front with upper spacer and 1.5 AAL in rear. On a '12 double cab I ended up with 2.2" increase in the front and 1.75" in the rear. The 245's looked off so I installed Cooper 265-75-16 AT3's today and I am happy. Did not need the new UCA's.
