Been a GM owner for most all of my driving life..the foreign cars I encountered in my early years were giant headaches.

In 2008, Toyota bought my wife's 96 Tacoma (which she bought in 2000 before we met) back for about $10k. I had just bought my 2006 Chevy Colorado, which I loved, and was happy she found a Rav4 so I wouldn't have to give up my truck. From then on I always said if I ever wanted a foreign car, I'd listen to Toyota after how they handled that..a 13 yr old truck in the New England area of any kind can have rust issues.

Fast forward to 3 months ago..I had the cylinder head go on my Colorado, if you know about them it was the P0300 fix. I'd be here forever typing it but suffice to say it took 2 months and going to 2 dealers, plus cost me a fortune. I decided to fix it either way since I'd never get anything for it..and just figured I'd not make a rash decision but keep one eye open to see what other options might exist.

Well, last Thursday I was on the Toyota dealer's website that my wife deals with. I happened to spot a 2010 Tacoma regular cab with 6600 miles. Intrigued, I called them about it and went to see it. It was getting the tires and brakes checked so I couldn't drive it but went over the figures and trade-in for my Colorado. Drove it the next day and brought it to her work, she said "if you don't want it, I'll buy it and you take the Rav4".

Suffice to say Saturday I handed over the keys to the Colorado, nearly shedding a tear. I did love the Colorado but just didn't trust it anymore..and my wife is already asking when she can have the Tacoma. Um never, does never work for you? :D

My driveway is even color coordinated, both my Tacoma and her 2005 Rav4 are silver! I just wish the Tacoma was black like my Colorado was..

    Hi and Welcome
Sounds like my story tried and true GM I'll support the US auto ind. etc I have had toyotas before without complaints. Long story short times got hard and had to look for value have a suby and the toy both dependable and both hold value.
I love my truck glad I got it the suby forester is not my choice of vehicle but an awesome little rig for wife.
