    Brand new. Coming soon.
I've never owned a new vehicle of any kind. I always bought used beaters and let others take the depreciation hit. My last truck died a painfully long slow death...despite keeping it on extended life support...engine replacement...constant care...and gentle handling. I put a bullet in it and started researching mid-sized trucks.

I'm now the proud owner of a gleaming silver Tacoma V6 4x4. It's my first new vehicle. I LOVE it. I never knew what I was missing until now. So I wander into this on-line community and have been reading voraciously the wealth of information here...and discover that I must modify this truck to make it my own...my...precious.

Minor things first; No floor mats in a 30k truck? Um...ok...I ordered a set. I'd like to remove the dealer's metal plate that he's glued to my taco, without damaging the paint. I'd also like to install a light under the hood. I raised the hood this evening and was surprised to find I needed a flashlight.

Get a blow dryer and heat up that dealer plate real good, then pull it off. If the glue is nice and warm, you can then just roll it off with your fingers if it's still on there. New is the best time to pull 'em off.

    Welcome.

Thanks for the tip MadToy, I took the dealer plate off the tailgate today, and cleaned-up the remaining adhesive with some Goo-Gone.
