Just wanted to introduce myself and post a pic of my new 2012 Tacoma Access Cab TRD Offroad Auto V6 Magnetic Gray Metallic.

This is actually my second Tacoma. I owned a 2007 (exact same truck) SilverStreak previously. I purchased the 2007 new and traded it in (83,000 miles) for a VW Golf R. (been a VW fanatic for years) back in '07 I needed a truck sold my 04 VW R32. Drove the Tacoma for 5 years and it performed flawlessly. This past March I decided to go back to VW and traded the Tacoma for the new Golf R. It was and is a great car (with a software ecu flash 305 hp and 310 tq on 93 oct) but found myself missing the utility of the truck. So, last week I decided to trade it for another Tacoma.

I ended up with what I consider an outstanding deal (I have been in the car business for 10 years and sold vehicles for 5 years). MSRP on the Tacoma is $32,131. I purchased it for $27,281. Combine that with a great interest rate through my credit union 1.64% and I think I made out.

Only complaint so far on the 2012 is the Satellite Radio reception is quite poor. The other is I can't find the locking lug key.

    Love the Golf R.

I was torn between waiting for an R or buying my GLI.

Sadly, like you I am wanting to get back into a Tacoma!

Thanks! I thought I was over driving a truck but after getting rid of it I realized just how handy it is. Not only that but the constant worry about door dings rock chips pot holes constant detailing and what ever else. plus i am getting older and driving fast just isn't what it used to be. slowing down in my old age.

I thought it was Metallic but then second guessed myself when I posted.

So the 2012's are still a 3 leaf spring pack? I remember getting a 4th spring added on my '07. Is there a TSB to add a spring on a '12 if you complain about poor ride quality when freighted in the bed?

2012 TRD Off Road 3 leaf pack (better maneuverability/flexibility) and TRD Sport has 4 leaf pack. I think the SR5's can come with either one

    Thanks!

Another question. I have noticed that I get a faint brake pedal pulsation when coming to a stop. it happens every time, right before the truck comes to a complete stop. it feels like slight ABS activation. Is this normal? I know my '07 did not do this. My only thought was that Toyota may program the ABS module to be over sensitive due to the run away vehicle issues they have been dealing with the last few years...any insight on this?

Just picked a 2012 Baja two weeks ago. My locking lug key was either in my glove box, or in the compartment below my rear passenger seat. Can't recall which. I'll take a peak on lunch break to see if I can find it.
