2012 muffler same size as others?

gunna be throwing another flowmaster 40 delta flow on my 2012...is the 2012s still 2.5" in/out right? center in/out also right? thanks guys....was thinking of trying something different, but i liked the sound on my 2010....

 

Anyone?

 

I would guess its the same, from what Ive seen the 2012 only changed the front end styling and the interior. Nothing else changed engine/powertrain etc. so it would not make sense to change exhaust size.

 

Did you figure out what size in/out to go with? I want to get a magnaflow. I know the stock pipe is 2.25, but everyone seems to be going up to 2.5.

 

Yo! The stock 2012 comes mandrel bent and 2.5" piping from what ive seen and measured. so the expanded tip on the exhaust is probably more than 2.5". I've never measured tho, you got a tape measure?

 

I actually used calipers from our engineering lab . the outside of the pipe measures 2.38 . So the inside is about 2.25. This is on 2012 TRD sport pre runner. The actual TRD exhaust comes with 2.5. I got a 12256 magnaflow. 2.5/2.5 center/offset 18 in length, 24 over all. it slipped right over the OE pipe and the gentlemen welded it up for me. Came out perfect, and sounds amazing. Could not be happier. I paid 70 dollars for it brand new from Amazon and 45 for the instillation. WAYYYYY better than $400-$500 for a full system!

Note... you can go with 2.25 inlet/outlet but they have to expand the pipe to fit over OEM pipe and the metal may split. So I went with 2.5. As far as magnaflow the core size is the same from 2.25 to 2.5 inlet/outlet. So you don't lose anything from changing inlet sizes besides easy instillation.

 

My Apologies for the misleading information man, I never had the opportunity to measure it with calipers. But congratulations on the exhaust, glad youre happy with the outcome of it mate!!
