I've read the threads about installing front d rings but one thing I haven't seen answered is how to install tie downs like the 2012's have? All the ones I saw at the dealer a few days ago had the standard rear d rings. On the floor near the tailgate but then they also had tie down loops bolted to the side of the bed up front. Are these just screwed into the bed or do they have some sort of backing plate added to them? How much weight do these hold compared with the d rings?

I know this is an old post but it doesn't look like anyone has replied or answered your question.
I found some information on a different DIY website (I won't name it in case that is taboo).
I assume the front d-rings would mount just like these instructions: http://toyotapart.com/PT278-35054.pdf
I also want to install front d-rings on a 2012 but I'm going to use the front bed mounting bolts on the floor of the bed. I guarantee this is a stronger mounting point location than a hole in the side of this composite bed.
