I finaly figured out why my Tacoma is the only one in the known universe riding on 15" wheels- tire selection is extremly limited.

Heres my situation: I currently have 33x12.50x15s and will be needing to replace them in the next few months. I've already decided on DuraTracs and want to keep the size about the same. They are available in a 33x12.50 in a 'C' load rating, which is fine for my uses. They are also available in metric sizes that would be close- but are all 'E' loads. If I go metric, I need to buy 5 new 16" wheels, if I stay with my 15s, I only need to buy one wheel for a spare.

My options as I see it are:

    A) Keep the 15s, buy 1 wheel, and use LT tires

    B) Get 4 16" wheels and appropriate tires, use one of my old tires and wheels as a spare

    C) Bite the bullet and get set up completly to run 16s.

My biggest concern is that if I stay with 15s, am I just delaying the enevitable? Are off-road tires and 15s going the way of the dinosaur?

If I re-set with 16s, the cost will be quite a bit more.

If I use an old tire as a spare, would it be OK to run with the metrics that are slightly over or under sized? The the metrics seem to run between 32.5 and 34.

If I was smart enough, I'd make a poll out of this... But any input along with your reasons would be great!

I run 2 sets of tires. The stock 245/75/16 Dungflops on road & 255/85/16 BFG KM2s off road. When I go off road I bring 2 spares since they are a different size. One under the bed & one in the bed. If I need a spare I'll put the two 245s on the front and go in 2wd.
