Im interested how well it does in low lighting now. If its great+the faster fps.. that would justify the price. Oh I think its same mounts, it looks the same.. hopefully it is

depends how you're going to be using it. What software are you using to edit, how many cameras do you have etc etc.

The black edition is supposed to have the best low light performance of any GoPro to date.

I use final cut. Chances are I wouldn't use it at night. Already spending at least $300 for the silver..what's an extra $100. With the hero2 sold, I'm only $200 out of pocket with the black

The black edition is also the only version that come with the WiFi remote, its not really needed if you have an iPhone but is still a nice bonus

Coming from a guy who will eventually buy it.

I have Bonica Snapper HDDV underwater video camera. Mine shoots 1080 30fps and 720 60fps when I am scuba diving. As much as I love my camera, I have forever considered getting go-pro setup because while I can attach my camera to my mountain bike or to my truck... it is way too big... that is where go-pro's come in.

But problem is that go-pros have never ever ever produced decent video quality in certain situations. Here is one: When scuba diving you need a flat port lens, otherwise video footage will be blurry so one could buy a flat port housing for go-pro but its lack of auto focus and relatively weak battery life.
I think the way these cameras are designed is to film in short bursts and for short bursts this is a kick ass camera but if you are out in the boonies lets say surfing or scuba diving or mountain biking or skiing or whatever... expect a 30-45 minute battery life ON A GOOD DAY.

When go-pros came out I thought it would be cool as hell to video tape my mountain biking... but thing is... after you do it once... it almost makes no point to keep using the camera for that...

I think over time go-pro is turning into "hey look what I can do"... which is fine in short bursts and in moderation. After all when was the last time you watched someone hold the camera and let footage roll for 3 hours? Yep... cordial rule on youtube is to not make your videos longer than a few minutes because people lose interest.

If there is one thing I like about go-pro is that they push my scuba camera manufacturer to keep making their products better. Over last 5 years I went through 3 cameras (same housing... different upgraded cameras). I hope that my next upgrade with Bonica would be a 60pfs 1080p option. Anything over that is quite an overkill.

Also youtube butchers video footage anyways so unless you put in on vimeo you are just wasting your breath and would be just as happy using go-pro 1 or go-pro 2.

I agree with some of the other guys...I think $400 is a little steep in price. I still have my HD Hero version 1 and it does everything I want it too!!:D I think I will wait for the GoPro 4th edition, haha.
