    That was fast.

Surface rust is easy to fix. But I'd be concerned if there was rust in places that can't be reached, like between the frame and body.

    Just my .02 :)

Yeah, it was fast. Would you consider a third party inspection?

Thoughts about what? The frame undercoat/sealant?

If the inspection was done correctly, I am sure they looked all around the frame. It is good they are taking care of the rust for free.

If you want to take it to a third party inspection for your security you can.

If you do some research on corrosion and how it's formed, and what different types there are, you'll find you are not driving a time bomb.

Glad to see it's getting taken care of. Just something for you to monitor as you own your truck. You'll be fine if you stay on top of it. Document, document, document.

Here's a thought, be glad you bought a Toyota! They are the best about taking care of the people who buy their trucks. Don't worry, the dealership isn't gonna try to tell you there isn't a problem with your truck when it might possibly have one. They get paid to do the work from Toyota Motor Corporation, so any frame rust problem they find on your truck that they get to fix is extra income for them. I had a '92 V6 4x4 Pickup that had a recall on the head gaskets. The truck was 10 years old when I got a letter from Toyota that said my truck had not been fixed yet and to bring it to my local dealership to be fixed for FREE! I told them it had over 150K miles on it and I've had no problem, but they said bring it in and we'll fix if for free. I had them put in a new timing belt and water pump since they already had it torn apart and I didn't have to pay any extra labor for it. That's why I'll never buy anything but a Toyota from now on. They take care of their customers.
I was just at my local dealership the other day to pick up some new spark plugs and asked them about the frame rust recall. I have an '01 DoubleCab Tacoma now. They sent someone out to inspect my truck and said it was in very good shape. A week later, I got a letter from Toyota saying that my truck was not in the states listed for the recall inspection yet, but if there were ever to be a problem with the trucks in my state (KS), that I would be immediately notified.
I've already committed myself to never buy another vehicle unless it's a Toyota.
