    Now to chime in on the topic (which I'm not 100% if it is about the chime or dealerships), the chime is a safety feature that is probably required for the factory to have on. There is an option that it can be turned off, however if it is not in the manual then it is up to the consumer to figure it out. The dealerships are probably not allowed to turn it off, because then they become liable if something happens, people are way to sue happy.

    My dealer said they would do it, but they wanted me to schedule an appointment, and charge me an hour of labor. So I went to the parts department to get a belt extender. They wanted a fricken biography and the d/l of the person that was going to be using it, because they guessed it wasnt me(im 5'10"/170#). I said to hell with it. Ill hit pick and pull and try find a wrecked one.
