    Hello Tacomaworld Taco drivers,

I have recently purchased my first Toyota truck. I am hoping to gain some knowledge about some of the odd differences there are with my truck. I have a 2002 Tacoma SR5 PreRunner. It seem that Autozone does not know that some of the parts are different ie; 2WD vs 4WD. I spent an entire day going back and forth to get the correct front brake parts. I pretty simple brake job turned into missing a alot of football.

    Any info would be great.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
    Welcome to TW

The Prerunner is essentially the same as the 4x4 truck, minus the front differential (this is amazingly simplified... as there are multiple different drivetrain parts).

As for the front brakes, I'm willing to bet that the 4x4 parts fit your particular truck... :)

This. If you have a prerunner, all it is, is a 4wd without 4wd (oversimplification again).

Brakes are the same for them though. Unless you have a trd brake kit, But what really matters with these trucks is whether or not or have a different size engine (when it comes to brakes)

OH, And welcome to TW sir!!!
