VIN numbers on body panels.

I looked under the hood of mine and in the engine compartment. Nothing. Oh well. I guess I don't need to worry about it. The car was new when I bought it. I see my dealer friend about once a month and I hate to bother him about work stuff so maybe if I remember when I see him I'll ask.

 

I was wrong. I don't have stickers like the one in the photo.

Mine are the landcar ones. There is one on every door, hood and tailgate.


I just never REALLY looked at them. I just knew they where there.

 

My 2010 purchased new NUMMI built does not have the stickers.

Ill let you all know what those stickers are. Its an extra that some dealers offer or try to force down your throat or sneak in on you. They are meant to identify parts that are found from stolen vehicles. Obviously they can be peeled right off so they dont offer much security

 

Do the people who have the stickers also have a sticker in the door window that says "equipt with Toyota theft deterrent system" or something similar?? Just curious because I have no idea what the theft deterrent system is, unless it is the stickers which I also have
