Quaker State synthetic V.S Mobile 1 which is better

I have seen at my local walmart a 5qt jug Quaker State synthetic running for $20.67. Since I'm a fan of Mobil 1 oil in my car/truck I was wondering how the "Q" stacks up against M1. I use the 5W-30 grade. Anyone used this synthetic oil in your cars/trucks and what do you think??? If responces are favorable I might try it in my truck the next OCI.

 

Check out bob is the oil guy. I think they are mostly the same. With little difference with 5k intervals

if they are the same in quality oils i would have save $5.00 (mobile 1 $26.99) by switching over to Quaker State. Then i can use that 5 bucks to buy the Purolator PureOne oil filter....wah..la Synthetic oil change for $27.00 bucks.

Get a Toyota oil filter instead. The Purolator isn't as good as the company makes it sound...

ILuvTEA, Thanks so much (and to the person who take so much time and effort to made all that oil filters informative video) for included the links to those video. i have learned so much about car/truck oil filters. i think from now on i will stick with toyota oil filter.

Castrol GTX held up better.

 

I ran SuperTech in my previous trucks and ran the crap out of them and never had a single problem. All the name brands are good and whats much more important than brand is changing it at the proper intervals. Last I heard SuperTech was made for WalMart by Valvoline so it's not like it's some imported crap from china.

Around 2002, I heard that the Tundra was made for Toyota by FoMoCo.
Not everything that we hear is true.
A WalMart employee is NOT a credible source of information as to the origin of his products.

Supertech is most likely the same as any other "bulk" oil packaged for a company that doesn't actually refine or blend oil... supplied by the lowest bidder.

 

I'd imagine QS syn is good stuff. I use M-1 because I'm not too worried about 5bux spent every 5K miles on my 30K truck.
