Does anyone know if you can paint the black, stock plastic front bumper and mirrors?

i was told that the paint might not stick and will begin to crack, chip and or scale on those types of surfaces.

any words of wisdom or tricks or is it just not a good idea?

my truck is a 2009 super white with all stock, black bumpers and mirrors but I would like to paint them gloss white to match the truck.

You will have to scuff the plastic real good first. Then there is a product call Adhesion Promoter that is a MUST when painting fresh plastic. As long as the surface is scuffed well and you prep the area you want to paint very good, you should be just fine. Everyone that has a painted bumper on any vehicle started out with a plain plastic bumper.
