I just installed some new tail lights in my 00 Tacoma, and now when I press the brakes the dash lights and front running lights (the side yellow ones) are activated.
    (brakes tripping light switch?)

I didnt do anything to the wiring other than disconnecting the old lights and connecting the new, and switching the light bulbs.

    Any ideas?

    much appreciated

Put your old lights back in and see if the problem still exists. Check the ground wires, a ground wire could have been pulled loose when you were changing the lights. A bad ground can cause the electrical current to backfeed through other lights looking to complete the circuit.

    thanks for the advice mike.

turns out just one of the bulbs was loose! i guess the bad connection with the light socket caused everything to act up.

all is well now and the new lights look sick,

    thanks again,
    hails
