Steering wheel shake

    recently put on some stock x runner tires and rims on my 2wd acess cab and my steering wheel jerks and shakes on the road, got it balanced, aligned, changed lug nuts and tires rotated and still jerky and little shaky. any help on how to fix?

    Bilstein 5100s front, Adjustable Ranchos rear.
    Take it to a shop that can do a decent wheel balance. Better scan and post your alignment numbers because those are probably off too.

    When you got/get it aligned they should have a print out with Before and After values for Toe, Caster, and Camber in the front (and a lot of others, but those are the bigguns')
    They should give you a copy-Scan or take a photo of it and post that up...

    Shaking sounds like balance tho...Did you make any other changes besides the tires?

    kk thanks, will try to see if i can find the copy.nope no other changes done, im mostly concerned about the steering wheel jerking left to right pretty drastically.

    Tacomas are (in)famous for this.

    It is probably not alignment. Alignment problems will usually cause pull to one side or tramlining. Worth checking though.

    Find a good tire shop and do a LUG CENTRIC ROAD FORCE BALANCE. Watch them to make sure they don't do a plain spin balance on cones.

    The other thing I frequently notice is flat spotting after the truck is parked. My stock Bridgestones did it (always) and my replacement Michelins do it as well (less frequently). But that goes away as soon as the tires warm up a bit, 5-10 miles down the road.
