So I walked up to my truck the other day and was admiring it (like a good owner should do) and noticed my driver's side roof molding was completely missing. Did some research and ended up on the toyotanation forum where they say it is very common.

To get to the point, I found the strip online for $66. Besides adhesive, is there anything I may need to get. Saw quotes on the forum for about $150 and I am trying to avoid that.

    thanks for the input!!:D

Find someone on here who has of a roof rack on and doesn't need their molding anymore and buy from them. May try posting in the buy/sell/trade section. Good luck!

So I didn't even pick up on it but I have the factory roof racks and the roof racks are inside the molding. I am the second owner, do you think they were installed incorrectly.

    pic?
If they are OEM, then you would remove the molding first then screw the rook rack into the channel.

That looks pretty terrible doc! His truck is a double cab so i would assume that's what he has. And if they are they should fit your truck just fine.

Little confused, why would OP buy molding when she's keeping the roof racks. Looks to me like the previous owner did a shitty job removing the tape so it doesn't look very clean but it's fine.

OP, here's the instructions for a proper install. You can see that Instrction 1-A is to remove the molding.

Her pictures show a completely different style of rack. Hers are no oem ones. You attached a link for oem roof rack installation. Therefore she needs the mouldings.
