locker options

I have been searching around and cannot find too many options. Are ARB air lockers the only option for an 06 Tacoma?
I realize they are a great product but they are running pretty high for purchase and installation.
I found a truetrac but am unsure on the product itself. Found a couple threads regarding the two lockers mentioned, but that is all

 

Don't know a lot about this topic, but ARB's seem to be the be-all-end-all as far as the best you can get.

 

I think you are right in that regard. The ARB is the one. But very pricey. Just wondering about other options and if people have other experiences

 

I have a 1997 jeep wrangler with arb's front and rear and absolutely love them. They are pricy but I believe worth every cent. When looking into purchasing them for my jeep I also considered the OX locker. I'm not sure if they are any less expensive or if you can get them for the yota axles but worth looking into.

 

im looking for lockers as well, i have a 2011 sport and wonder if they are able to be installed on the sport models?

 

certainly. . some of the most capable rigs you'll find on this site are sport model trucks with lockers

 

ARB lockers have been around a long time and are proven reliable and they work awesome. I had two in my Jeep.

It's a 'selectable locker' that allows you to engage it and disengage it. When the ARB is not engaged, it's an open diff and doesn't change your normal driving conditions.

They are expensive because - not only do you have the cost of the locker but you also have the cost of gears, gear & ARB install.... you'll need some sort of air supply which usually involves a small air compressor, mounting & hardware, air lines.....switches....etc.
