Hey, have you looked into the Remington R1? It is a nice startup 1911. Or just save for a different 1911. Or just go sig:D

You were up way past your bedtime.

I don't think I'll have any issues with it. It'll mainly be for recreation and home defense.
The DA trigger pull does sound a little heavy for me, but I won't know until I get it.
If I have an issue with the pull I always figured I could do a trigger job.
The 92 felt good in my hands.
    I think I'll be happy.

Lol. After I get the 92, and a bigger home defense weapon, I think I'll be getting a P220 .45.
    :)

No I haven't, I have the H&K hk45 as my first pistol purchase. For the price I bought my H&K I should of bought a 1911.

Wife has one (not the Inox).
It's a beast. It's a great gun, very accurate, but it is heavy.
That's why she likes it... she can't handle the recoil of lighter guns like a snubnose or a Glock. The 92 has a great feel.

    But....

It is a SA/DA semi-auto. The safety is a decocker, so your first shot after taking it off "safe" will be a long, heavier DA pull. Once that shot goes off (or you manually cock), it goes back to SA like a 1911.
This puts some people off. You can buy a lighter spring that will help without risking light strikes, but it's still a DA pull.

Yes.... My husband and I have one. In fact, it was our first handgun.

No complaints at all - it's a very nice piece.

For me personally, it's just slightly too big for my hands. Have you had it in your hands? Does it fit nicely?

I don't have much good to say about the gun honestly. It was initial issue for all 8 years I was in the Army. Too heavy, inacurrate, sloppy, too heavy of trigger pull.... mainly all of the probably has to do with the fact that it was an Army gun.... I bet the civilian model is much better.

The H/K 45. Is one of the best non 1911s out there IMO. The Remington r1 will run you around 600 bones. Not bad for an entry level 1911. I dont like Rock Island so....

I have the Taurus PT92,which I really like and my daughter loves to shoot and shoots it very well. I am going to buy a Berreta 92 in the next few weeks. I have sold my Sig 239 .40cal so I don't have to stock up on 3 different types of ammo. My son has a Berreta CX4 Carbine that uses the 92 mags and my Taurus 92 mags will fit the Berreta. This way we can buy bulk 9mm and 45 cal and split the cost................................

Well, You are doing it for the ammo. The gun is not worth the money. I would not buy it unless it was less than 200$, even then i would still be extremly iffy. Of all the firearms I have carried and used, That one would probably be the least loved. Id actually rather have a hi point than that.

    +1 on the PT.

I don't know that I would prefer a HiPoint or that I'd limit myself to $200 for the PT, but here in SoCal Taurus tends to run about $100 less than their "inspiration"
Considering that my DROS paperwork and taxes can easily exceed $100, I'd rather spend the extra and get the real deal, especially when talking about a sub-$800 handgun.

Remember, a handgun is not unlike a Harley. The cost of the Harley is only the down payment on the chrome. The cost of the handgun is only the down payment on the ammo.
I'll spend $2000+ on ammo every year. I might spend $700-$1500 on guns every 2 years.

I hated my pt92. Mine shot up the side bigtime. In anyone's hands. I gave it away. I think I had a lemon.
