Heard of this happening to WRX guys. I've also seen a limo driver get his ass busted for trying to run 70MPH over the western continental divide near Denver. Freeze frame data at the time the coolant temp light came on showed him in second gear with a fully loaded vehicle trying to keep up with traffic. The little 4.6L Lincoln engine couldn't quite handle that one.

Yeah I hear it happens a lot to the Honda and Subaru guys, these of course are the same guys that are putting "cold" (more like HOT) air intakes into their cars and put fart can foldgers mufflers on their exhaust and call it fast and the furious. If 8000 RPM's isn't crystal clear as to why the dealer is denying your warranty claim maybe to mounting brackets and bungs installed on the stock intake for a nitrous setup seals the deal for ya. Lol.

Those guys are not the brightest crayons in the box, or the sharpest tools in the shed.

It's possible the stock shifter from the factory has inherent shortcomings and the TRD sport shifter addresses those shortcomings which in the process saves the synchros/throwout bearings/ and gears?

Maybe Toyota also has realized this but figured they have released way too many manuals out in the free world and figure that if the people want their manuals to work correctly, they (Toyota) might as well make a couple bucks in the process?
