I'm not sure , they wont do a transit plate either .

They simply told me them delivering it is my only option .
Now my other delema is if I buy from a ct dealer and pay the 4/500 more , that truck seems to be the only one in the area with the options and colors I want . So in the end someone will still be driving it down the same distarnce , only differance is ill be payin after the transfer which makes me feel a lot more comfortable .

if the truck is on there lot, why do you have to wait 3 days? i brought my truck site unseen. i called the dealer which is an hour away from me and thats the closest to my house. told them what i wanted, they had to get it from another dealer. i don't blame you at all for not wanting to drive it home the same day. 3 day wait on a truck that you have paid for blows my mind. good luck in your decision

I have bought a truck out of state they call my insurance at that time allstate . They fax temp insurance card. Dealer put on 90 day paper temp. plate. Off I went. You do have to pay your taxs in the state you live.

That's how it should work , wonder if the dealer is pulling some funny business on me or they are just cheap .

I bought my truck in state, but I was on an island and the truck was close to a thousand miles away. They shipped it from one city to another then drove it to the ferry dock and put it on the ferry to the island. I did everything via phone and email and fax and snail mail with the bank and the dealer. I had zero issues.

No reason why they need to ship to your DMV, that's weird.

75 miles? Thats how far it is from one side of Chicago to the other! That's nothing! But if it's really that much of an inconvenience, just pony up the extra $300-400. You'd spend at least $50 in gas, might stop and get lunch, etc.

Same thing I did. I live 50 miles across state line from my dealer. (VA to MD) It was fairly simple.

Well its not the distance that bothers me. It's the fact that I can't drive the car home after paying for it .

I'm waiting to hear back from some other local dealers, hope to hear something by Monday , and then ill decide whether to pay the extra $ at a local dealer

Just to update the thread , after lots of patience and emails to a lot of dealers . I'm getting the exact truck I want for just $230 bucks more. Which is feel is fair and saves me a lot of b.s and headache .

only down side is I have to wait 4-6 weeks for the truck to be built .

Can't wait to get the truck , already have plans to upgrade the sub in the stock jbl box and put some 5100s in the front !
