after i purchase my new tacoma money will be tight.
what i want to do is put on new wheels and tires in the stock size (265/65 R17) then later upgrade to either a RCD or Toytec Ultimate lift and fit 285/70/17 once the tires run out (i figure 60k ill have the cash for the lift)

now the question is, if i upgrade the wheels, and i need a 4.53" backspace for the lift, will the 4.53" run fine with the 265/65/17 tire and no lift?

    thanks, hopefully that made sense

Yep, made sense. The 4.5" backspacing will be fine for the 265s now and for the 285s later.
