You probably won't notice a difference in mpg

That depends on what load range you run, some are heavier than others.

Larger size will cause an apparent drop in calculated MPG of about 3% (18mpg will calculate out to 17.5).

This will be offset by the fuel savings on extended highway driving due to the 3% lower engine RPM (assuming you don't try to keep your speedometer at the same speed).

But stop and go driving will cost a small amount.

Net effect? It's not going to save fuel, or break the bank either way. 2-3mpg difference is simply not significant from a cost standpoint.

I have done that exact tire size change and what happens is your speedometer reads correct instead of too fast. The result is you loose about 1 MPG in numbers but not in real mileage. I have Hankook Dynapros.

There's a reason that auto manufacturers always say "Your mileage may vary"

Taco MPG ranges from 12 to 30, depending on the engine and the driver.
We have guys with 4-bangers getting less than 15, and there's a few 4.0s rolling 20.

But in general, prerunner or 4x4 + oversized tires = 14-18.

If the OP is asking, with 265/70-16s I got 16 to 19 mpg but the speedometer was off. With 265/75-16 my city/hwy. range is 15 to 18 mpg with an accurate speedometer.

I noticed no difference upsizing from 265/70R16 to 265/75R16. I get an average of 18.9mpg with the larger size (calculated with fuelly and corrected for the bigger tire size). This is pretty much the same as I was getting with the smaller tire size. I drive 50% highway, 30% city and 20% bush roads FWIW.

    V6 4x4 6 speed
