    Hello everyone,
Longtime Tacoma owner here thinking about trading for a 4Runner..

I've wanted V8 power for a while now for pulling my boat in the summer. I've also felt my Taco is a bit of a dog anytime driving against a head wind..add any hills or towing and it really sucks..has to kick down a gear just to maintain speed. I'm also getting tired of the "truck like ride" of the taco..

So I'm thinking of trading my 08 Taco (93000 miles) for a 07 4Runner. The Runner is a V8 Limited 1 owner with 73000 miles, they are asking $22,900. They offered me 18,000 for my truck.

    What do you guys think?

    Too few to list.
I think you can get a better deal on the 4runner, I've seen them as low as $10K in my area with similar mileage due to the fact that no one is really looking to buy a V8 these days. $22,900 is retail. $20K is more sensible.

They are asking too much for the 4runner. That would be around 17k in texas, 4x4 also

The 4Runner is definitely priced too high, but then again they probably offered you too much for yours so the price is irrelevant...you really want to focus on what the difference would be with the trade. If they don't cut that $4,900 difference down closer to $2,000-$2,500 I wouldn't do it.

I have an '07 T4R 4x4 SR5 4.0L and love it. I also have a '12 Taco 4x4 TRD OR AC and love driving it. The vehicles drive very similar but also very different. The ride in the T4R is definitely smoother than the Taco but the Taco is a TRD OR so that's expected. I have the 4.0L in the T4R so I can't speak to the power of the V8 but a good friend has one that he uses regularly to pull his boat and he doesn't have any trouble.

You can't go wrong either way. Good luck!

Give them you're truck at 2500 and call it a day. youd be basically paying 2 grand for 20,000 miles.

Wish I could!! They don't fit the 4runner because of the bigger brakes.. (bigger brakes is also another point I'd like to get a runner)

    Thanks for your suggestions guys!

I love my 04 Sport V8....100k miles for $10,600. With all service and registration done, it talleyed up to & $12,600+. Leather heated Katzkins are another $1500....Limiteds are nice but not worth the extra $. I paid $375 for my stereo deck, $40 for PAC steering wheel control module, $300 for JL sub, stock enclosure and JL amp, $55 for the bluetooth steering wheel controls....put it all together and Im at under $15000 for a fully serviced limited...with better options IMO....sport hood, Xreas etc.

I'm sure you could find someone that would trade you some stock wheels...maybe help offset the cost as well...

In the Pac NW an '07 V8 Limited 4Runner 4x4 with that mileage would go in the mid $20k price range easy but around here the V8 limited option is rare. I thought about buying a V8 Limited and I had to really look to find one with decent mileage under $30k.
