Goodyear Duratracs

I changed over my tires from BFG Mud Terrain TA's (load range E) in a 245-75 R16 to my stock Dunlops AT20's, then decided to pull the trigger and buy some Duratracs. I went with the 265-75 R16 in a C load range.
I cannot say enough about these tires. I have had them only for a couple hundred kelometers, but they are really impressive. The BFG's were loud, heavy and didn't behave well at high speeds and they ate up a lot of gas. The dunlops were....well, dunlops.
The Duratrac's were VERY quiet on the highway, they handle great on dry roads and they haven't been eating up gas the way I thought they would.
I debated between a BFG AT and the Duratracs, but I'm certain I made the right choice. AWESOME tire. I cannot wait to test them out on ice and snow in the winter.

im glad to hear someone on here has a set and likes them. i just ordered a set and there supposed to be in tommorow. ive been wondering how they performed on a light truck such as a tacoma

I'm going to get these tires also in a 265. Debating over the C and E load ratings though. E's will have a tougher sidewall but not ride as nice.... Just how tough is the C load ratings sidewall???

 

Put it this way, the load ratings on the C Loads exceed the amount our little V6 Tacomas tow/haul.

 

Yeah I get that. But are their sidewalls tough enough to offroad with? Abrasion resistivity. I know coopers and I think km2 have Kevlar weaving, duratracs don't- but strong enough in a C load rating?

 

Go E if you will be airing down and crawling in rocks with them.
