^ Blah... Stock is for suckers!

The beauty of Toyota is that they graced us with a Truck design that has lasted 8 years so far. Im guessing the redesign will be 2015.

So if thats the case. We're looking at a 9 or 10 year old design! I love that shit. . .

    Thanks Toyota. .

Wait for a major change before buying in again... no sense having two of the same generation-- the difference from the 05 to the 12 is going to be nothing if you think about a generational gap, like the 04 to the 05.

If your not into putting yourself into a large amount of debt, like I was when I bought my 05, just keep it. I love that I have owned the truck for less than a year and it's already half paid off. I also like the fact that I have some money left over after a payment and don't feel as guilty spending it on mods as I would if I had 30k+ in truck debt. Maybe down the road if they release another generation Tacoma I will buy new (or at least newer) but for now I'm quite happy with my 05.

if what you want is the 2012 front end you could always do a conversion, I think I remember seeing some pics in TW live of a 07 to 2012 conversion in progress

I just mean if money is an issue keep it stock until you save up. 123k miles means I'd buy new. (Knew that shouldn't have been said on this site... ;) )

I am half way to paying off my '06 that I bought a year ago, and I can't wait till it is paid off, and every mod I do makes me like the truck I have better than a new one. I have 112k miles, and don't plan on trading it in. I also like having something that is half the price of a new one, I can spend some money on mods and still make double payments on it.

Get the newest blower motor, it doesn't have the squeak, and look for some rear spring from a 2012/2013 and get a AAL, I just got a set of rear leafs with 1k miles on them, my bushings are shot and my leafs are sagging, this is going to make a huge difference.

My 2007 is almost paid off as well. I'm keeping it and look forward to no payments. I only have 38k miles so ill have it for quite sometime. I've recently started parking it in garage, the first vehicle ever to park in garage in my life. This will help prolong the life of cosmetics in Texas sun.
I'm starting to upgrade now with front bumper.
So I vote for keeping it.
As far as auto trans problems,I haven't read anything out of ordinary. But I used to do transmissions when I was younger and will work on my own if any problem arises,if out of warranty.
